BUCHEN handles projects in the area of tank and turnaround management throughout Europe and worldwide
Storage tanks, vessels and columns for crude oil or heavy products require regular inspection and cleaning. If this is not done, residues bind the costly stored product. Furthermore, deposits reduce the tank volumes and therefore their storage capacities. Depending on the type and size of the tank as well as the nature of the residues to be removed, BUCHEN uses different automated, closed-tank cleaning processes that largely avoid the stress factors involved in manual cleaning.
BUCHEN Tankservice has developed innovative, closed tank cleaning systems that already meet international requirements

These highly effective tank cleaning systems are based on a modular design and are installed in sea containers for safe and flexible transport. Since all BUCHEN automated tank cleaning methods are in closed systems, hydrocarbon emissions are greatly reduced in contrast to conventional manual tank cleaning. Short cleaning times and a high level of safety for personnel, who do not need to enter the tank (non-man entry system), are additional benefits of the automated cleaning systems. The high crude oil recovery rates and the associated lower disposal costs along with shortened cleaning time represent significant economic advantages.
BUCHEN UmweltService has developed the BTS closed tank cleaning system, which has been further enhanced in recent years specifically to meet the needs of the international market. The problems caused by manual cleaning are largely eliminated by the automatic BTS process. In addition, without the use of chemicals, high recovery rates are achieved for the products being stored in the tank. The BTS jet washer system is suitable for both floating and fixed roof tanks.
The product is sucked from the tank, heated and fed back into the tank as a flushing medium via the rotating jet washer nozzles under pressure and at high speed. There, it selectively releases the solid and highly viscous contents of the tank.
