Integrated Management System (IMS)

In January and February 2007 our integrated Management System successfully underwent and passed without restriction another recertification audit for Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000), a certification audit for Environmental Management (ISO 14001:2004) and a monitoring audit for Workplace Safety (SCC**) as well as an audit for the German Special-ized Waste Disposal Enterprise Certification.

We also received confirmation of successful migration of the Buchen Group’s Integrated Management System to the new ISO 14001:2004 standard.

Our certification auditors from DNV, Det Norske Veritas, also confirmed ongoing improve-ment in our Integrated Management Systems at all of our Group’s locations.

First-time Certification in Estonia and Sweden

After intensive preparation in 2006 our subsidiaries Buchen Industrial Services Baltikum O.Ü. in Estonia and Buchen-ICS AB in Sweden were able to successfully pass the requirements for Quality Managements in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 as well as the SCC** Checklist (Safety Management).

Management Ratios

Our proven system of management ratios in the form of a balance scorecard was extended in 2006. Ratios for profitability, accident frequencies, sickness levels, capacity utilisa-tion/productivity are determined on a monthly basis, recorded and communicated throughout the Group.

Health

The various health improvement projects we offer our workforce were accepted and used by many of our staff. Our annual flu inoculation program has become a standard health care feature.

The Health Project started in 2001 as cooperation between the AOK and the German Work-place Accident Prevention Association and Insurance Organisation continues to be success-ful. Courses in aqua training and back muscle training are now held regularly in spring and in autumn in our Germany East Region helping to provide our workers there with valuable health and stamina coaching.
