Buchen Group extends its reach into Turkey
In order to expand their activities on the Turkish market, Buchen Group acquired the Turkish ESMAN Mudanya company with headquarters in Bursa and offices on the premises of Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş, in short TÜPRAŞ, in Izmir in September 2010, which will continue operation under the name of “Buchen ESMAN Endüstriyel Servis Limited Şirketi”.
ESMAN Mudanya was founded by Necdet Şen in 1995 and has been firmly established in the area of industrial cleaning in Turkey ever since. With a staff of about 60 employees, ESMAN Mudanya has operated with several combi-vehicles and high-pressure water units in high-pressure cleaning in the chemical and petrochemical industries and the TÜPRAŞ refineries.
Besides Hans-Dieter Behrens and Olaf Karrass, both Managing Directors of Buchen UmweltService GmbH, the former Managing Partner Necdet Şen will continue to act as Managing Director of the company, furthering a positive development of the company by contributing his many contacts and professional experience.
The forecasts for Turkey as an economic location are good. During the past nine years, the country has demonstrated constantly strong economic growth, experiencing a marked cyclical upturn after the negative implications of the global economic crisis in 2008. This upturn has had a positive effect on industry and foreign trade. For the years to come, the economic development is expected to be solid as well.
There are five petroleum refineries in Turkey, four of which are operated by the former state company TÜPRAŞ (Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A. Ş.) being privately owned by 51% today. Two further refineries are under construction. The Turkish market for industrial cleaning is characterised by a growing demand for high-quality services and compliance with time schedules. A good perspective for Buchen Group which has been able to achieve a prominent position in project work in Turkey using their Cat-Handling specialty of BUCHEN-ICS GmbH for some years.
By acquiring the company that is well established on the Turkish market, Buchen Group can both use and expand existing structures and benefit from synergies in the course of an intensified collaboration with other Buchen Group companies such as the Buchen ICS Group and Buchen Tank- and TurnaroundService GmbH. The Buchen Tank- and TurnaroundService GmbH has been cleaning five petroleum tanks in Izmit since October 2010, where Buchen ESMAN will take over subsequent precision cleaning. Presently, experienced Buchen employees are familiarising the Turkish colleagues with the high security standards of Buchen Group and Buchen technology.
